Guinness Super League : Lékie Levels Up

The defending champions now sits second with 38 points, equal number of points like first-placed FC Ebolowa after the 16th playing day played on Saturday March 23, 2024.

The battle for which team will emerge champions of the ongoing women’s division one championship dubbed the Guinness Super League is getting tough with a stiff scuffle at the top. After matches of the 16th playing day on Saturday March 23, 2024, defending champions, Lékie FF, climbed up to 38 points to catch up leaders FC Ebolowa who ended up with equal number of points. According to the rules of the competition, FC Ebolowa is maintaining the top seat thanks to a favourable particular goal difference between the both teams.  FC Ebolowa defeated Lékie FF in the away leg and played a draw in the return leg; hence making the South regional club superior. This means that despite Lékie’s superior goal difference of +26, they come behind FC Ebolowa.
Nonetheless, Lékie is on a good footing as to what concerns its title defence. On its day-16 match, the club defeated AS Fortuna 2-0. Meanwhile, FC Ebolowa that has been leading since the away leg recorded yet another draw; this time, against Amazone FAP.
