Indomitable Lions: Test Matches That Inspire Hope

The win against Uganda and a draw against Equatorial Guinea in the Africa Week tournament was a platform for Coach Marc Brys to further test his playstyle and scout talents.

The Africa Week Series Tournament ended in Morocco on June 10, 2025 with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon coming out undefeated. The Lions recorded a victory and a draw in the two games against the Cranes of Uganda and Equatorial Guinea at the Annex 1 Stadium in Marrakech. During the first game on June 6, 2025, Cameroon beat Uganda 3-0 with Enzo Boyomo, Patrick Soko and team captain Vincent Aboubakar doing the finishing for the Lions. In the second match on June 9, 2025 at the same venue the Lions played a 1-1 tie with the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea. During this game, Coach Marc Brys decided to make some changes in his starting XI. Notably, four changes were made. Aboubakar Vincent contrary to the first match, started. A good choice for Coach Marc Brys as it was Vincent Aboubakar who opened the scores for the Lions. He received a beautiful pass from Patrick Soko. Unfortunately, Aboubakar and his team could not maintain the lead until the end. The Nzalang Nacional came back into the match after a gross clearance error from goalkeeper Devis Epassy to bring the game to 1-1. Emilio Nsue, team captain of the Nzalang Nacional scored the equalizer. Cameroon failed to regain the lead despite all efforts and it was 1-1 at stoppage time.
