South West: Governor Clamours For Peace, Development

Bernard Okalia Bilai chaired the Regional Administrative and Security Coordination meeting on June 3, 2025 in Kumba, Meme Division.
The Governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai has made a clarion call to administrative and security personnel as well as civilians to guard peace for sustainable development of the region. This was during a two-day regional administrative and security coordination meeting, which held in Kumba from June 3-4, 2025. The meeting is aimed at building better synergy between State institutions and the local population via the actions undertaken by administrative, municipal and security actors for the promotion of peace. Welcoming the South West Governor to the city of Kumba, the representative of the Kumba City Council, Barrister Prince Moses Esembe, Mayor of Kumba I Council crooned about the economic viability of the town, the economic hub of the region. Decrying the prices of household products, and the poor road network, amongst others, Mayor Esembe assured the unwavering support of municipal authorities towards ensuring peace and development. Governor Okalia Bilai on his part tasked administrative and security forces to strengthen collaboration, examine social and economic preoccupations affecting the region by prioritising the welfare of denizens, embittered by the socio-political crisis since 2016.
