Hon. Roland Pangmashi recently offered some 2,000 textbooks to some schools in the Yaounde VI sub-division
The Member of Parliament for Mfoundi VI Constituency, Honourable Roland Pangmashi has donated some 2,000 text books to pupils of Groupe Scolaire Biligue Ossilion in the Etoug-Ebe neigbourhood in the Yaounde VI sub-division. The donation which took place on March 23, 2017, was the 11th the CPDM Member of the National Assembly was donating in his constituency. The books mostly on agriculture, environmental protection, computer studies, civic education and discipline, according to the MP will go a long way to empower the pupils and students of the institution in the different fields. His choice for agriculture, he said, is to encourage youth engage in the sector in a bid to be self reliant and combat poverty. Given that the digital economy is today embraced as a sector that can generate wealth and employment, studying computer, he said, is an advantage for the young people in the technology driven-world. He also explained the need for moral rectitude among youth reason why he donated books on discipline and civic education.
The MP believes that the books will help lessen the burden of the parents as the beneficiaries can borrow books from the library and read on their own. There can be no education without textbooks reason why he instituted a textbook policy in 2013 in his constituency and has so far been to several public and private schools in the sub-division. Authorities of the school expressed gratitude to the MP and pledged to make judicious use of the consignment.
