International Fund of Agricultural Development: Rural Development Assured

The new Resident Representative applauded Cameroon’s forty-five-year long corporation relationship in sustainable agricultural development.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe granted an audience to the newly appointed Resident Representative and Country Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for Cameroon, Eric Rwabidadi, on September 22, 2025. The high profiled audience held at Minister Mbairobe’s Cabinet, set the ball rolling for agricultural developmental projects earmarked for Cameroon. Talking to the Press after the close door exchange, Eric Rwabidadi accentuated Cameroon’s key role in promoting IFAD’s objectives and Mission for sustainable development throughout her close to fortyfive-year-old membership at IFAD. Having worked in six IFAD representative offices, the Rural Development professional, Eric Rwabidadi underscored that “the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is his entry point to Cameroon.” Before taking his current position, Rwabidadi, a fluent English and French speaker worked extensively with other country programmes including Rwanda (his home country), Kenya, South Sudan, Burundi, and Zambia.
