South West: Nkwen Cultural Association Offers Scholarships

Tiko (Fako) The Nkwen Cultural and Development Associations (NCDA) has offered scholarship to some of its children who performed exceedingly well at the Cameroon General Certificate of Education, June 2025. The cash prizes with certificates were handed to laureates at the Tiko SS Club on November 29, 2025, during the NCDA quarterly general assembly meeting. Drawn from all the eight chapters, Advanced Level had 12 beneficiaries with each taking home FCFA 100,000. Then there were 21 Ordinary Level recipients with each person getting FCFA 50,000. In all, FCFA 2,250,000 was distributed to deserving students of Nkwen origin. One of the beneficiary, Bright Ngu Fombosoh, studying Computer Engineering in the University of Buea, got 22 points. After receiving FCFA 100,000, he said he will use the money to better his studies like buying a laptop and other facilities. “Honestly, I am just happy that my efforts were recognized. And it means so much to me. I promise to continue to do my best to make NCDA proud,” he said. The President of NCDA, Dr. Mariana Tamukong Ndifor, in congratulating the laureates said it is their discipline and determination which have set them apart and made them the pride of Nkwen.
