Cameroon's senior national futsal team endured a humiliating 0-12 thrashing by Angola on February 3, 2026, at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. It was the first leg of the second-round qualifiers for the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations. This catastrophic home loss has virtually reduced their prospects of reaching the final tournament phase.
From the opening whistle, Angola asserted total dominance, exploiting Cameroon's porous defense. The visitors racked up eight goals in the first half through masterful positioning, precise passing, and ruthless finishing, before Cameroon marginally improved to concede just four more in the second half. A thin crowd of disheartened fans pleaded for a mere consolation goal to salvage some pride, but Cameroon's attack produced nothing. Angola's superiority was no coincidence. As continental futsal powerhouses, they were runners-up in the previous Africa Futsal Cup of Nations and have competed in two FIFA Futsal World Cups, bringing unmatched experience in high-pressure, fast-paced play that Cameroon simply could not match.
