Strengthening Civil Society: Renoscam for Citizens Led Initiatives

The Network of Cameroonian Civil Society Organizations, Renoscam has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening citizenled initiatives this was during the 7th edition of the Civil Society Organizations Platform (PLAFOSCIL) Littoral Forum which took place on Thursday 30 April alongside workshops aimed at boosting the capacities of civil society organizations (CSOs). Renoscam was a technical and financial partner for the forum, citing a direct alignment with its mission to supporting citizen-driven dynamics and enhancing the operational capacity of CSOs. According to the Executive Secretary of Renoscam, Ivan Trésor Mbock, Renoscam was created in 2025 and officially launched on April 11, 2026, in Douala Bépanda has chosen from the onset to position itself as a structured network for Cameroonian civil society. Mr Mbock futher explained that, the 7th Plafoscil Littoral Forum offers a strategic setting for strengthening dialogue between CSOs and territorial development stakeholders (CTDs). He emphasized that the Littoral region is crucial for national development, making it an ideal space for concrete, scalable partnerships. “Since the Littoral is a key area of the country, we want to make it a pilot space to build a stronger, more organized, and more impactful civil society,” he said. On the sidelines of the forum, Renoscam also organized a capacity building workshop focused on CSO empowerment particularly in financial matters. The workshop sought to provide organizations with practical tools to help them structure themselves effectively, strengthen their operational skills, and develop income- generating activities.
