2026 Commonwealth Games: Here Comes Team Cameroon

T he 2026 Common­ wealth Games in Glas­ gow, Scotland, which begins on July 23, 2026 is fast approaching. Team Cameroon has begun ar­ riving in Glasgow for the ac­ climatisation exercise, which started on July 16, 2026. Some athletes departed the country on July 15, 2026, and a greater portion of the team is expec­ ted to arrive this weekend as the camp fills up and final pre­ parations intensify. The accli­ matisation period is being used to adjust to local time, recover from travel and fine-tune tech­ nical work ahead of the com­ petition. All these to ensure that the athletes are in full shape to achieve peak perfor­ mances. It should be recalled that Ca­ meroon will be represented by 24 athletes across several disciplines: athletics, boxing, weightlifting, judo, para-athle­ tics and para-powerlifting. Top competitors include Nora Mo­ nie Atim, Emmanuel Eseme and Herverge Kole Etame, among others in the athletics discipline.
