Presidential Couple: Exceptional Welcome Back Home

T hursday August 20, 2026 began in Came­ roon’s political capital city- Yaounde, as an ordinary day but ended in a hectic manner. As a matter of fact, the return of Came­ roon’s first couple, Paul and Chantal Biya, from a private stay in Europe, completely transformed the atmosphere of the city as anxiety and eu­ phoria enveloped the dwellers who took vantage positions to have a glimpse and heartily welcome them back home. The President of the Republic, Paul Biya, in the company of his wife, Mrs Chantal Biya, left the country on June 7, 2026, “For a brief private stay in Europe,” going by a press release from the Minister, Director of Civil Cabinet at the Pre­ sidency of the Republic, announcing the trip. So much water had gone under the bridge with social media animators saying just anything - The good, the bad and even the ugly.
