Manyu Unity Cup: Bachuo Ntai Ladies, Gateway FC Crowned Champions

A fter several weeks of ex­ citing sporting competi­ tions, the 2026 edition of the Manyu U-17 Unity Cup has rounded off with Bachuo Ntai Ladies in handball and Gateway FC of GRA Mamfe in football emerging as champions. The grand finale that took place on August 30, 2026, under the aus­ pices of the Senior Divisional Officer for Manyu, Mr. Awounfack Alienou Yves Bertrand, and the distinguished patronage of Engr. Victor A. Mengot, Minister of Special Duties at the Presidency, was aimed at celebrating excel­ lence, unity, and the develop­ ment of women and youth in line with the vision of H.E. Pre­ sident Paul Biya. In the handball final, Bachuo Ntai Ladies defea­ ted Cocoa Dynamic Ladies 11 goals to 6 to lift the trophy and a cash prize of FCFA 500,000. For the Under-17 football final, Gateway FC of GRA secured a 1-0 victory over Bachuo Ntai FC to claim the trophy and a cash prize of FCFA 1,000,000. Speaking at the closing cere­ mony, the 1st Assistant SDO of Manyu applauded the Mamfe Council and the organizing com­ mittee for a successful tourna­ ment. He noted that the massive turnout at the finals is clear tes­ timony that peace has returned to Manyu, adding that he is lea­ ving the Division for a new func­ tion as a happy man.
