South West: HOFA Eases Back-To-School In Bimbia

Bimbia (Fako) - A boost to the new school year 2026/2027, was recorded on September 5, 2026, at Man-O-War Bay of Bimbia in Limbe III Subdivision. Hope of Africa (HOFA) distributed school bags, books and other didactic materials to 78 lear­ ners. Initially planned for 52 children, all the 78 that turned up were ser­ ved. In receiving the items, the pupils and students noted that the books, school bags and other didactic materials shall facilitate their lear­ ning in the 2026/2027 academic year. The Executive Director of HOFA, Sa­ rah-Derval Lifanda, said the initiative is born out of the current impasse in the North West and South West Regions where many families have been displaced and have lost their livelihoods and need support. The donation is her own way of encou­ raging the young ones that educa­ tion is the key to success. “The younger ones still have the zeal for education. It is now our responsibility to push them forward to achieve their dreams," she indicated. While calling on the learners to invest their time in learning, Derval Lifanda expressed gratitude to the indigenes of Bimbia and partners who sup­ ported the initiative.
