Campaign Gets To The Peak

All candidates and their representatives are multiplying campaigns using all possible strategies as the election day draws nearer.

After President Paul Biya, candidate of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) personally campaigned in Maroua, Far North Region on September 29, 2018, his representatives have got to a frenzy on the field using proximity campaign and rallies.

Starting from Tuesday, October 2, 2018, President Biya’s campaign teams have embarked on mega rallies scheduled for eight regional headquarters to conclude with the ground breaking rally in the nation’s capital in Yaounde on Friday, October 5, 2018.

In a press release signed by the Assistant Secretary for Communication in the CPDM Central Committee, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo, mega rallies chaired by senior party officials held in Ngaoundere, Bertoua and Bamenda. Today, the mega rallies are scheduled for Bafoussam, Ebolowa and Garoua.

The one in the Littoral regional headquarters, Douala will take place tomorrow, October 4, 2018. The mega rallies are just a tip of the iceberg of the enormous campaigning CPDM campaign teams and those of the allied parties in the presidential election are organising.

There is the noticeable presence of parties supporting President Biya in the presidential poll such as the National Union for Democracy and Progress (NUDP), National Alliance for Democracy and Progress (NADP), Cameroon National Salvation Front (CNSF), the Union of the Population of Cameroon (UPC) as well as parties of the presidential majority such as the United Democratic Party (UDP).

Opposition candidates on their part are multiplying rallies and proximity campaigns. Joshua Osih, the candidate of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) has embarked on campaigns in the southern part of the country. He was programmed to campaign in Mbalmayo in the Centre Region before moving to Sangmelima, Zoetele, Nkolmetet, Ngoulemakong, Ebolowa as well as other localities in the South Region.
