MINEPAT: FCFA 52.791 Projected

Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey defended the proposal before parliament on November 23, 2018.

A draft 2019 budget totaling FCFA 52.791 billion for operations and investments in the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development has been presented before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly for examination and eventual adoption. The proposal awaiting the approval of parliamentarians was made by Minister Alamine Ousmane Mey on November 23. The Minister said the budget which has witnessed a significant increase from FCFA 47.979 billion in 2018 will enable the country meet its ambition to produce more, process, export and import less, as suggested by President Paul Biya during his inaugural speech on November 6, this year.“Processing would require industrialization which can only be possible when we have enough energy.
