Managers of the various outfits told Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai as he went on an evaluation tour.
The towns of Buea and Limbe in Fako Division are standing tall in the state-of-art modern infrastructures in sport and tourism and leisure. South West Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai, on Tuesday December 4, 2018, made a guided tour through some of the infrastructures and was assured by the various managers of the outfits that all their structures are ready to receive any national and international competitions, and guests. The Governor began the inspection journey at the Buea Mountain Hotel and then moved to Parliamentarian Flat. He also checked the Molyko Omnisport Stadium, Limbe Regional Hospital, Centenary Stadium, Atlantic Beach Hotel and the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
Nfor who heads the Parliamentarian Flat Hotel in Buea recalled that his hotel accommodated national football selections of South Africa, Nigeria and Mali during the 2016 AFCON. As such, they are operating at 100%. The Manager of the Limbe Omnisport Stadium, Mbua Pascaline said that the stadium is currently hosting national and international matches. Nseme Denis, Director of the Limbe Regional Hospital guided the Governor on view some modern sophisticated medical equipment at the hospital. He explained that since the hospital had it equipment and infrastructures upgraded during AFCON 2016, they have been at the service of humanity be they Cameroonians of foreigners.
At the last lap of the tour, Governor Okalia Bilai clarified that his visit to all the sites is a routine check to ensure that all the infrastructures are well maintain. That South West Region does not have a sport and leisure problem. “We have hosted AFCON in 2016 and football playing grounds continue to receive national and international tournaments,” he said. He pointed out that the security situation in the region is fully under Control.
