Cerac: grandiose Feast Marks 2018 Successes

December 19, 2018 is one of those dates that have entered into the annals of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC). Members of the association had come-to-gather in its 26th General Assembly meeting. It was an ideal opportunity to make a balance-sheet of the path they had covered during the year while projecting into the future on how they will pursue the twenty-four year humanitarian journey in contributing to social progress and human development as spearheaded by the Founding President of the association, Mrs Chantal Biya. As early as 10:00 a.m. the General Coordinator of CERAC, Linda Yang, opened discussions. In conviviality and serenity, heads of the different committees took to the rostrum to present their reports.

The Secretary General presented the 2018 progress report, followed by an address from the Deputy General Coordinator in charge of the Diplomatic Wing. Next was the Treasurer with a presentation of the financial report and the certification of accounts by the auditor. Reports revealed that the association worked tirelessly to implement 92 percent of its projects in a year marked by economic setbacks, social and security crisis, especially in the North West and South West Regions of the country. In fact, CERAC completed 33 out of the 36 registered projects ear marked during the course of the year. Such a success rate called for celebration. In no time, the car on-board the First Lady drove into the headquarters of CERAC. This ushered the start of a grandiose feast which left CERAC members and their guests dancing as daylight dwindled.

As the banquet continued in a cheerful ambiance, artistes such as K-Tino, Grace Decca, Georges Seba, Nabila, John Duchant joined CERAC ladies to celebrate their efforts in fighting against poverty, improving access to health services and care, increasing population’s access to quality education, while empowering women and youth in all the ten regions of the country.
