Malian Community Mobilised Despite Spanking

Although their first outing with Nigeria was discouraging, they stay confident. 

 

The Malian Community in Douala are brazing up against their second encounter with Kenya for the Female African Cup of Nation. Though they were given a 6-0 spanking by Nigeria at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium, November 20, they are poised to mobilise greatly for the encounter against Kenya Wednesday 23. To the President of the Organisation Committee of Malian Youth, Ibrahima Timbine, over 400 Malian in Douala travelled to Limbe to encourage the Eagles of Mali.

“The Consul General of Mali in Douala, the executive bureau of Malian Community in Douala and the youth bureau made it possible for Malians to travel to Limbe and encourage the Eagles,” he explained. Though the outcome of the match was disastrous, the Malians are not discouraged. “We are confident to play the final of this tournament just like what happened to Argentina in the 1990 World Cup where they lost the first match and played the final,” he poised.
