2017 State Budget: MINFI Clarifies Senators

Alamine Ousmane Mey was before the Finance and Budget Committee on December 4, 2016 as he set the pace for cabinet ministers to defend their budgetary allocations.

 

The Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey has presented the 2017 financial, economic and social programme of the government to the Senate. He was before the Finance and Budget Committee of the House on Sunday December 4, 2016, to present the 2017 draft budget balanced in revenue and expenditure at FCFA 4, 373.8 billion as against FCFA 4, 234.7 billion in 2016. The Finance bill which has been adopted in the National Assembly was forwarded to the Senate on Saturday December 3, 2016 for further scrutiny.

Alamine Ousmane Mey presented the balance sheet of the 2016 financial year and gave an over view of the 2017 financial year in the committee on Budget and Finance chaired by Senator Elie Victor Essomba Tsoungui in the presence of Senate President, Marcel Niat Njifenji. Finance Minister also defended the budgetary allocations of sovereign institutions such as the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Ministry, the Supreme Court, amongst others before proceeding to defend the draft budget of the Ministry of Finance which stands at FCFA 52, 076,000 billion.
