Summit For New Global Financing Impact : President Paul Biya Already In Paris

The Cameroonian Head of State and wife arrived in the French capital yesterday June 21, 2023 evening to a hilarious welcome from jubilant fellow compatriots who came from far and near.

Cameroon’s participation at the Summit for New Global Financing Impact which begins this Thursday June 22, 2023 in Paris, France will be at the highest level. The Head of State, Paul Biya and wife, Chantal, jetted into the French capital yesterday June 21, 2023 to join other world leaders and business executives in collectively seeking ways of building a new consensus for a more inclusive international financing system of the global economy. The visit of President Paul Biya raised a lot of anxiety in diaspora Cameroonians within and without Paris who worked tooth and nail to give their leader the best of reception for a peaceful stay and fruitful deliberations.
The Presidential couple was welcomed on arrival at the Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris by Cameroon’s Ambassador to France, André-Magnus Ekoumou. At the entrance of the airport was a group of flag-wavering Cameroonian diaspora who sang, danced and showed their attachment to the Head of State and wife. As the Presidential motorcade drove through Paris to their temporal residence in the George V Hotel, an enthusiastic crowd of diaspora Cameroonians were already lined up to give President Paul Biya and wife a hectic welcome worthy of their status. They came from all Cameroon’s socio-cultural backgrounds with their dance groups and their songs depicted the love they have for fatherland and the one who incarnates the laws and institutions of the Republic, Paul Biya. Messages patterning to peace and harmonious co-existence of a one Cameroon under one leader could be read on the banners. In fact, the joy on their faces was telling of the love for homeland and leader who works tirelessly to keep it united.
A warm wave of hands by the visibly elated Head of State and wife ignited ecstasy in the teaming crowd as each one produced the best of hospitality, reminiscent of Cameroon even far away from home. According to Christelle Ndongo, France-North Section President for the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, the visit of President Paul Biya is memorable and she and peers took all measures to venerate their party leader and President of the Republic. Like her, other Cameroonians, Cameroon Tribune spoke to here in Paris, hold that the visit of the Head of State makes them feel home far away from home. The object of his visit, they added, makes them the more hopeful that workable and adaptable global solutions would be jointly sought for common challenges being faced by countries across the globe, their beloved Cameroon inclusive.
