North West Regional Assembly : Giving Meaning To Special Status

Prof Fru Angwafor's pioneer team commits to serve special interests of the North West region, promote culture of peace and values of living together.

The clock stroke 11:56 am on January 22, 2021 when the Representative of the State, Governor, Adolphe Lele Lafrique concluded the ritual that commissioned the pioneer Executive of the Regional Council with Prof. Fru Angwafor at the helm and His Majesty, Yakum Kevin, Fon of Bambalang as the President of the House of Chiefs. The ritual opened a new chapter for the region with the pioneer Regional Assembly charged to promote the culture of peace and make the values of unity and living together a way of life in a region in dire need of healing and cleansing with frustrations blamed on the ongoing socio-political and security crisis. 
It is against this backdrop that Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique said the Regional Assembly was conceived and endorsed as a response to the crisis with a special status for the North West and South West regions in recognition of the specificities of the Anglophone subsystem of education, the Common law system and traditional leadership.
