Chantal Biya Foundation: First Lady Displays Love Of Christmas

She distributed gifts to over 1,000 children at her foundation yesterday, December 22, 2016.

 

Christmas is a season intended to teach people about love, sacrifice and compassion. The First Lady of Cameroon, Mrs Chantal Biya has grasped the message and indeed has put it into practice given that “actions speak louder than words”.  That is why for over three days, the First Lady of Cameroon has devoted her time to show love and compassion to various groups of vulnerable people in society.

Yesterday, December 22, 2016 was the turn of sick children at her foundation, the “Chantal Biya Foundation”, orphans and abandoned children at the Children First Centre of the foundation as well as to some pupils from some schools in Yaounde. Within the 2016 traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Chantal Biya Foundation, the First Lady spent over three hours with sick and abandoned children as well as other pupils who had come to join in the celebration. A joyful Chantal Biya handed over gifts to some 1,000 children at the foundation.

The arrival of Mrs Chantal Biya was marked by a welcome song from some 600 excited pupils who had lined-up the entrance. Mrs Biya joined the kids in singing and shortly after, commenced with the distribution of gifts. Joined by some cabinet ministers, the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), and other dignitaries, an untiring Chantal Biya undertook her love mission of sharing special Christmas gifts to the children.

Thereafter, Mrs Biya made a tour of all the wards at the Mother and Child Centre of the foundation, placing gifts on the bedside of the children.
