Christ, The Greatest Is Born

Christians at the Etoug-Ebe Baptist Church in Yaounde joined others nationwide to celebrate Jesus’ birth in a special church service.

Pastor Richard Mbemngong of the Etoug-Ebe Baptist Church in Yaounde during a special Christmas service told the congregation to celebrate the day with the understanding of the mystery of God being born in the form of a human being to save mankind from sin. Reading from Philippians 2: 5-11, the officiating pastor preached on the topic “The Mystery of Christmas”.

Pastor Mbemngong said although Christmas Day is the birth of Christ into the world, some people think it is a feast for children while others celebrate without understanding its meaning. The pastor said Christmas calls for unity in the church as Christ began His journey from glory to humiliation and from humiliation to glory. The preacher said Jesus is God and the world is celebrating God Himself born in the likeness of man but sinless!

According to the pastor, the deeper meaning of Christmas is that human beings crucified Jesus, who came to save them. Although Christ was God, he never took the place of God. He rather emptied Himself and became man; humbled Himself and walked the path of obedience all the way to death on the cross, the preacher revealed.

For this reason, the Word of God says Jesus was exalted as God raised Him to the highest place and gave him the name that is greater than any other name for at the mention of His name, all beings in heaven, on earth will fall on their knees and openly procla...
